

The Public Procurement Commission, (PPC) participated in its first Education Exposition as exhibitors for the Ministry of Education under the theme: – Education – The Key to National Development.
The PPC took the opportunity to highlight public procurement as a trending career option essential to the continued development of Guyana.
The Exposition was held at Durban Park, Georgetown on the 30th September, 2019.
The opening ceremony commenced at 10:00 am with the reciting of the National Anthem by attendees. Followed by a welcome speech by Dr. Marcel Hutson – Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Education.
The Honourable Minister of Education – Dr. Nicolette Henry also delivered an address highlighting area of reform in the educational system and opportunities for professional advancement before the Education Exposition was officially opened by his Excellency President David A. Granger.
The Commission’s booth was manned by Teddy Cummings – IT Specialist, Michelle Hurry – Assistant Accountant and Jonelle De Viera – Communications Officer
There was an influx of participants (students, teachers) to the booth who engaged in rapport sessions with the representatives of the PPC. It was noted that many persons were not familiar with the mandate of the Commission and its functions, but were eager to learn.
