Commission Secretariat conducts Courtesy Visits

The Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Commission (PPC), Mr. Sean Noel, accompanied by other representatives of the Secretariat, conducted a series of courtesy visits to Permanent Secretaries of several Government Ministries over the period February 8 – 24, 2021. The entities visited were Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport and Ministry of Finance.

Matters discussed at these meetings included the mandate, strategic objectives and work plan of the PPC, with specific emphasis on procurement monitoring, capacity building and training initiatives. The C.EO. took the opportunity to emphasize the functionality of the Procurement Monitoring Software, which was implemented by the PPC, in collaboration with the National Data Management Authority (NDMA), to facilitate the timely submission of annual procurement plans and procurement expenditure information to the Commission. The Permanent Secretaries shared their experiences and views on aspects of the operation of the public procurement system and pledged their support to the activities of the PPC aimed at improving the public procurement system to the benefit of procuring entities, contractors and suppliers.
